Continuing Nilesh’s Legacy
We, the friends of Nilesh, have at some point or the other, worked with Nilesh for a social cause (we know how he detested the word “charity” and looked it as something we must all simply do). In our quest to continue his legacy, we tried to brain storm and come up with areas that we think were close to his heart.
We have narrowed these down to :
- Education
- Health
- Books
- Science
- Skill Building / Entrepreneurship
Doing our Bit
We have decided to put aside a minimum amount every month and to do something meaningful for his birthday every year.
Of the five areas that we have chosen, we will draw a chit and focus on that area for the entire year.
Here, we would wish to clarify that we do not intend to ask for donations as we do not think that it is something that Nilesh would’ve wanted us to do in his name.
All we wish to do is honour his memory and do whatever is possible in our humble capacity to continue his genuine work.
2021 – Small Beginnings
The Year of Chess & Unexpected Life Moves
Nilesh had had a conversation with us about how he wanted to teach chess to kids at an NGO. He believed that chess was much more than a game and that it could teach a lot to kids about life. Life indeed checkmated us in 2021 with Nilesh’s passing away. Since a Chess Class with Nilesh was something that we could not arrange before he passed over, we thought we’d begin Project Nirnai by distributing chess sets to NGO kids.
We intend to do this on his birthday in June 2021. We’ll be keeping you posted on the updates here.
